Mahogany Pods

Mahogany (also called mahogany bean)  is actually the fruit pod of the mahogany tree (Swietenia macrophylla) that makes the timber we are all used to hearing about plant. Unlike the wood though, these are soft and a bit crumbly. Many birds that like cork also like these. 

They have a naturally speckled and striped appearance, especially on the inside, which makes them as fun to look at as they are to chew.
